West Factory Road - Bridge & Road Closure

Due to planned improvements on West Factory Road, the bridge over Twin Creek that is located to the west of the Market Street intersection - and the roadway west of the bridge - will be closed to through traffic as of January 9, 2012.  Barrett Paving Materials, who was awarded the project in October, will install detour and informational signs prior to the road closure.  All other sections of West Factory Road will currently remain open.  However, as the project progresses into the Spring, occasional closures may be necessary.  The entire project is expected to last until August 31, 2012, weather permitting.

 

The West Factory Road Improvement Project consists of widening approximately 850 feet of West Factory Road from a point 225 feet east of the intersection of West Market Street to the bridge over Twin Creek and also reconstructing approximately 850 feet west of the bridge.  The existing bridge will be removed and a new wider bridge will be installed.  A new 12” water main will be installed to replace an old 6” water main.  The 12” water main and a new 8” sanitary sewer will be extended from the bridge to the existing corporation line to the west of the bridge.  The project will include the installation of curb and gutter and storm sewer.  Sidewalk will be constructed on the north side of the road for the length of the project.  The new roadway will be 30 feet wide measured from back of curb to back of curb. 

 

This is a State Issue 2 project with approximately 50% of the funding coming from the Ohio Public Works Commission.
