Hydrant flushing may cause rusty water in the area where water mains are being flushed. If possible, it would be best to avoid doing laundry during days when water mains are flushed in your area. If your laundry does become discolored, keep it wet, add a powder packet and rewash the laundry. Powder packets can be obtained from the Water Department during working hours or after hours at the Police Dispatcher’s office at 320 W. Central Ave.
